Colin has been sailing for over 40 years in a variety of craft starting with Lark, Lasers and keel boats but the opportunity to race Tornado catamarans sowed the seed for sailing catamarans. Colin's first Cat was a Unicorn A class. In the 80’s he found that Windsurfing in fleets of over a 100 boards in the UK was the most rewarding. However after a few years of racing Lasers round the UK led to sailing Dart 15 and Dart 18 catamarans in Loch Lomond and on the west coast of Scotland. For tidal sailing and not getting your feet wet, Colin purchased a Laser Stratos Keel boat, sailing single handed with the gennaker up but “only" achieving 11 knots surfing down waves in the Sound of Mull made Colin realise he was missing catamaran sailing. Colin is delighted to show those interested in trying a cat an opportunity to crew on his current Dart 18.
