For the past few years we have had the pleasure of hosting a Scottish Traveller for Solos, fitting in with normal club activity in a one-day event. In previous years about 15 Solos have visited and enjoyed some great conditions and sharp racing. The racing for the visitors runs alongside our own dinghy racing with a separate class start. There will be a Notice of Race published nearer the time but it is likely that there will be 3 or 4 races round laid inflatable marks and sailors and their families can join us for tea, coffee and cake after racing.
A few of the competitors are likely to bring their boats from Bardowie but many will come from venues further afield such as Loch Ard, St Mary’s Loch, Largo, Aberdeen & Stonehaven, Royal Tay and Bassenthwaite - LLSC seems to be an attractive venue! Travelling solos are welcome to stay for the weekend if they would like to join in club racing the following day.
For our own club sailors many of the keelboats will be setting off to the Head of the Loch on Saturday and for dinghy sailors it is a chance to practice your skills on a tight race course with 3 fun races alongside the solos. Please come along and enjoy a busy day of racing at the club.
