Introduction

The LLSC clubhouse on a sunny day
We are a club with a friendly, family atmosphere. New members are always welcomed as are visitors, whether you are interested in learning to sail or looking for a new club with great racing, come along and see what we have to offer. After the sailing is done for the day you can warm yourself around the log fire with a drink in hand. Perhaps you'd like to join in on one of the regular BBQs on the jetty; or join one of our club social events at various times throughout the year including a week of family fun during the summer holidays.
The club is run by the members for the members, so there is some expectation on the membership to get involved in maintaining the site and organising events. We try to keep this to a minimum, but getting involved helps to keep membership fees low and is a further opportunity to meet new friends. LLSC is a recognised RYA establishment allowing the chance for club members to further their sailing, powerboat and race management skills.
New Members and New Boats
In order to promote good racing, the club particularly encourages prospective members to join classes for which there is already a fleet of three or more boats at the club. These currently include Hawk 20s, GK24s, Sonatas, Flying Fifteens, RS200s, K1s, International Moths, RS Aeros, RS Fevas and Toppers.
Prospective members should discuss with the sailing captain or membership secretary which other boats might be suitable to be accepted at the club before making a boat purchase; this can be fully reviewed when making an enquiry about membership. Boats which are not aligned with club fleets may not be accepted for a dinghy park space or keelboat mooring. Members with boats on site are expected to maintain an appropriate level of participation in club racing. Club policy on members bringing boats is linked below.
You are very welcome to join the the club without buying a boat; if you want to sail dinghies, you can use club boats, and if you want to sail keelboats there are always opportunities to crew on members' boats. For new sailors this is a great way to gain experience whilst enjoying club amenities and activities, and will certainly help inform your choice of boat if you decide to buy later on.

If this sounds like the club you would like to join, or you would like further information, please contact the Membership Secretary.
We would be delighted to arrange a suitable time during the season for you to come and look around the club and have a chat with members regarding your experience and how your expectations align with what LLSC can provide. We look forward to hearing from you.
